The Position

The ML Engineer is responsible for developing Hyperbrain AI to build the world's smartest and accurate brain for CS and many more domains. Hyperbrain ingests and stores high quality data which is unique for each company. Company data is ingested from omni- data sources into Hyperbrain in one-click. Hyperbrain then automatically writes customer communications with the most relevant data in the reply interfaces e.g. Intercom, Gmail and Outlook, to answer trillions of customer scenarios that is beyond standard Chatbot conversations. 

In the role, you will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that directly impact Hypertype products. You will work closely with customer data, ensuring the models are not only accurate and efficient but also compliant with data privacy regulations.

• Developing new product experiences using NLP & LLMs and working closely with customers to understand their needs and ensure successful implementation.
• Implementing and shipping state-of-the-art information retrieval systems and search algorithms, with high impact metrics
• Improve the quality and accuracy of answers from omni- data sources and format, by incorporating the best data and features to improve AI suggested answers.
• Prompt engineering and fine-tuning to improve the quality of customer communications for different scenarios.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business goals and co-develop ML roadmap.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable APIs for integrating new data sources. 
• Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure APIs are efficient, well-documented, and deliver the necessary data for UI/UX components.
• Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues, ensuring continuous data flow and minimal downtime.
• Identifying opportunities for performance improvements and proactively implementing solutions to improve the data architecture.
• Rapidly integrating new data sources to support POCs and MVPs, working closely with co-founders and the sales team to offer technical expertise throughout the sales process.

Qualification

• You have ample experience in in building machine learning pipelines and / or information retrieval systems and are up to speed on latest in NLP & LLMs.
• You have experience in developing POC and MVP to facilitate the successful establishment of customer partnerships and the closing of deals.
• You have applied knowledge of A/B testing for model evaluation
• Versatile Software Engineering Skills: A solid engineering background with a robust foundation in software engineering principles. You have written code for and supported production engineering systems.
• Proficient in Python and experience with GCP: our AI stack uses Python, Hugging Face, PyTorch & Elasticsearch and is deployed on GKE.
• You care about delivering true business value and solving RAG challenges at the same time.
• A Solid Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.

Bonus points

• Experience with ETL processes, data pipelines and large-scale data processing.
• Familiar with tools like Airbyte, Apache Airflow, or similar.
• Experience with Node and Typescript.
• Familiar with data security and compliance (e.g., PII handling, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR). Familiarity with the Vanta platform is a strong plus.
