The Position

The Data Engineer is responsible for developing Hyperbrain AI to build the world's smartest and most accurate brain for CS and many more domains. Hyperbrain ingests and stores high quality data which is unique for each company. Company data is ingested from omni- data sources into Hyperbrain in one-click. Hyperbrain then automatically writes customer communications with the most relevant data in the reply interfaces e.g. Intercom, Gmail and Outlook, to answer trillions of customer scenarios that is beyond standard Chatbot conversations.

In the role, you will create state-of-the-art data infrastructure, maintain data pipeline and design scalable data architectures. You will work closely with customer data, ensuring the models are not only accurate and efficient but also compliant with data privacy regulations. As we continue to process billions of data points, you will play a critical role in scaling our data architecture to meet growing demand and support the continued success of Hypertype.

• Developing and maintaining scalable, robust, and efficient data pipelines.
• Ensuring data quality and reliability by implementing monitoring, CI/CD, and testing practices.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable APIs for integrating new data sources. Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure APIs are efficient, well-documented, and deliver the necessary data for UI/UX components.
• Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues, ensuring continuous data flow and minimal downtime.
• Identifying opportunities for performance improvements and proactively implementing solutions to improve the data architecture.
• Rapidly integrating new data sources to support POCs and MVPs, working closely with co-founders and the sales team to offer technical expertise throughout the sales process.
• Improving the user experience through optimizing data pipeline and proactively improve performance to support efficient data processing
  
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including the Product Manager, ML Engineer and the founders to deliver data-driven insights and solutions.
• Collaborating with the Sales team to provide technical expertise during the sales process, including the creation of technical proposals, and solution design.
• Own problems end-to-end, and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you’re missing to get the job done.

Qualification

• Proven experience in working with or building ingestion frameworks and orchestration tools. Strong background in ETL processes, data pipelines, large-scale data processing, and both batch and streaming data processing.
  

• Track record in developing and integrating new data sources in various formats and modalities to support deal closure.

• Experience in designing data architectures to meet business needs and developing data platform architectures.

• Familiar with data security and compliance (e.g., PII handling, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR). Familiarity with the Vanta platform is a strong plus.

• Versatile Software Engineering Skills: A solid engineering background with a robust foundation in software engineering principles. You have written code for and supported production engineering systems.

• Proficient in Python and SQL, with experience in GCP: Our data stack utilizes Python, BigQuery, Elasticsearch, and is deployed on GKE and Cloud Run.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Mathematics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

Bonus points

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.

• Experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
